It Takes a Village…Well, At Least a Street

Moving Westminster Place into the Next 50 Years

Fifty-six homes grace Westminster Place; fifty-six street fronts are swept and plowed; fifty-six curbs are evaluated for repair; over fifty-six street trees are inspected for disease and pruning; fifty-six families are invited to the fall picnic; fifty-six homes receive invitations to the annual winter party; fifty-six newsletters and contact lists are delivered; fifty-six households are served through the google group; fifty-six homes derive the benefit of security initiatives; and fifty-six residences have their values protected by the ordinances in place by the Westminster Place Association.

Yet, whether it is time for work or time for fun, the same people participate.

As we mark the 50th anniversary of the association’s founding, in an attempt to create a stronger sense of community and to ensure a rapid and effective response to neighborhood concerns, the Board of Trustees is asking residents for greater participation and involvement in the workings of the neighborhood association.

In the next few weeks, you will receive a form with your annual dues assessment. The form will serve two purposes. It will provide information on newly formed neighborhood committees and enable you to select one or more on which to serve, and it will provide the trustees with current emergency contact information for you and your family.

There are six different committees on which your input and time would be considered a valuable asset. Complete descriptions will be included with your annual dues assessment form. At that time, please review them and carefully consider how your time and talent may be best utilized for the benefit of the neighborhood in which you live.

The emergency contact area will include two sections. One section is for that information which will be included on the neighbor-hood phone/email directory which is distributed to all neighbors. The second section is NOT FOR PUBLICATION. It is information which will be kept by the board in the event of an emergency or catastrophic event.

Should you have any questions or thoughts, either now or when you receive these items, please contact one of the trustees.

Together, we can make Westminster Place an ideal place to live.
